Vehicle Profile: 2020 Honda Insight
A hybrid car for those who typically wouldn’t buy one
The Insight may not be the most recognizable name in the Honda lineup, but it epitomizes the ingenuity and priorities of the brand. This efficient, value-driven hybrid brings clean technology, helpful safety features and modern connectivity to an accessible price point and conventional style.
First and foremost, a hybrid
The 2020 Honda Insight offers three different trim levels, with each one utilizing the same engine: a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor and a pair of high-voltage batteries covered by an eight-year limited warranty. Honda offers this unique two-motor hybrid system that combines both at once, providing near-instant torque and swift acceleration. This combination yields an average of 55 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway, for a total range over 500 miles.*
Safety tools that work for you
You’ll find Honda Sensing® on every 2020 Insight. This suite of intuitive safety precautions aims to avoid or minimize collision damage. Prevent rear-ending that car in front of you by using Adaptive Cruise Control to automatically maintain a set distance from the car ahead. If you are approaching a vehicle ahead too quickly, the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ will apply the brakes in case you don’t do so soon enough. The Road Departure Mitigation System and Lane Keeping Assist System will keep you from veering out of your lane unintentionally.
A connected journey ahead
Honda provides you with phone integration capabilities. Even the base LX trim gets Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink and streaming audio connectivity, which can blast your tunes through the six-speaker, 160-watt audio system that uses speed-sensitive volume adjustments. On the EX trim, you get two additional speakers, and on the Touring trim, you’ll get 10 total speakers, including a subwoofer.
Access your apps through the Insight’s touchscreen using Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ integration on the Insight EX or Touring. Your 2020 Insight Touring can even function as a mobile hotspot if you have an AT&T data plan.
The 2020 Honda Insight proves that a hybrid car can be modestly styled and affordable.
