Vehicle Preview: 2021 GMC Yukon
The 2021 GMC Yukon centers around the idea of doing and delivering more. Not only does the Yukon deliver first-in-class and best-in-class features and capabilities, but it’s available for the first time ever in the off-road-ready AT4 trim and offers up more exclusivity in the range-topping Denali trim.
At the top of its class
At the center of the redesign of the 2021 GMC Yukon exists a simple goal: be better. The new Yukon delivers in several respects, not the least of which being its most-powerful-in-class all-new 6.2-liter V8 and the unsurpassed efficiency of the all-new 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel. The former puts out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which beats all other full-size SUV on the road, and the latter is expected to make the Yukon and Yukon XL the most efficient SUVs in their class.
With the 2021 GMC Yukon, you also get considerably more space to work with. Thanks to a 4.9-inch-longer wheelbase and 6.1-inch increase in overall length, the Yukon gets more than 10 inches more third-row legroom, more than 10 cubic feet of additional cargo space behind the third row and an extra 28.2 cubic feet of cargo room overall. Add its lower and flatter cargo-loading floor and an available Power Sliding Center Console that maximizes space up front, and the Yukon is perfect for big families with big needs.
The first-ever GMC Yukon AT4
Following in the stead of the Sierra 1500, Sierra HD and Acadia, the 2021 GMC Yukon is the latest member of the lineup to receive the rugged and refined AT4 trim. The 2021 GMC Yukon AT4 stands out thanks to its unique aesthetic, which includes an exclusive front fascia with red recovery hooks and dark accents all along the exterior.
Finding an ideal intersection between luxury and off-road capability, the Yukon AT4 amplifies the interior with exclusive leather-appointed and stitched seats, a Jet Black theme with Brandy accents and must-have amenities like heated steering wheel and heated seats. To give you the power you need to go beyond the open road, the Yukon AT4 boasts a two-speed transfer case, 20-inch Goodyear® all-terrain tires, skid plates and a Traction Select System with off-road mode.
The 2021 GMC Yukon AT4 will be available with the first-in-class, four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which offers up additional ground clearance by allowing you to raise the body by up to 2 inches. Also available is the Active Response 4WD™ System, which adds an electronic Limited Slip Differential to support superior traction.
More luxury with the legendary Denali
Appropriately enough, the peak of the 2021 Yukon range is the Denali, which represents the pinnacle of premium luxury in automotive. The 2021 GMC Yukon Denali takes that sense of superior polish to a new height with a refined Galvano chrome grille, advanced LED lighting and a bevy of cutting-edge technologies including a largest-in-class 15-inch-diagonal multicolor Head-Up Display.
Amplifying the luxury of the 2021 Yukon Denali further is an exclusive interior that includes unique seating, instrument panel and your choice of four distinct color themes. The interior of the Yukon Denali is replete with hand-cut and -stitched leather surfaces and authentic wood trim, which gives it a distinctive air of opulence that puts it at the apex of the segment.
The new 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are set to arrive at GMC dealerships nationwide this summer. Bringing to the table more innovation, capability and presence than even its impressive predecessor, the Yukon promises to be one of the most desirable full-size SUVs on the market immediately upon arrival.
