BMW X3 M and X4 M Make Strong First Impression at Nürburgring

BMW debuted its X3 M Sports Activity Vehicle and X4 M Sports Activity Coupe® in perhaps the most auspicious manner possible: with a test drive around Nürburgring. Prototypes of both vehicles made their world debut during DTM races held at the famous track in September, setting up a proper expectation of their capabilities when they arrive later in 2019.

“With their M specific performance characteristics, the BMW X3 M and the BMW X4 M will set benchmarks in terms of dynamics in their respective vehicle segment,” says Frank van Meel, President BMW M GmbH.

The fact that both the BMW X3 M and X4 M made their debut at Nürburgring is fitting. The legendary course is being used to test and tune the performance merits of both vehicles to ensure that they exceed expectations. Both will be powered by a burly M TwinPower Turbo straight six-cylinder engine with high-revving and feature BMW M-optimized front air intakes and integrated tailpipe exhausts. Each vehicle will also boast M xDrive technology, which originated on the BMW M5, creating exceptional power delivery to all-four wheels and superior traction and handling.

With ample output and aerodynamic efficiency, the first-ever BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M promise to deliver on the reputation consistent with the Ultimate Driving Machine® legacy.
