Vehicle Profile: 2020 Honda Pilot
The 2020 Honda Pilot is a three-row midsize SUV with features for the whole family. It’s spacious, well equipped and capable on the road, offering a good mix of performance and efficiency. And in its top trim, it’s more than just a little luxurious.
The 2020 Honda Pilot has seating for up to eight, though the second-row bench can be swapped out for a pair of captain’s chairs for extra comfort and better third-row access. That being said, access is already good to begin with thanks to the one-touch, tilt-and-slide second-row seat and to the impressive 153 cubic feet of interior passenger space. Cargo room is also strong: 56 cubic feet behind the second row and a gigantic 109 cubic feet behind the first. You can count on your passengers’ comfort thanks to the tri-zone climate control and plush seats. The high-quality fit and finish also helps to enhance the cabin’s premium feel.
Every 2020 Honda Pilot is well equipped, as even the most basic model comes with Bluetooth® connectivity, a 5-inch color display and push-button start. Upgrading to the EX probably gives you the best value, however, as it adds heated front seats as well as a new 8-inch touch-screen display with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. For even nicer features, you can move up to the Pilot Elite and unlock ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof and wireless phone charging. The Pilot is also notable for its CabinTalk™ and CabinControl™ technologies: the former lets you speak to the kids through their headphones (provided via the rear seat entertainment system), while the latter allows passengers to adjust audio and climate controls, as well as various other settings, via a smartphone app.
With up to eight people aboard, the 2020 Honda Pilot takes safety very seriously. Every model comes with the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard equipment. This includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™, a cool feature that can autonomously apply the brakes when a frontal collision is imminent. Honda Sensing® also includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation.
The 2020 Honda Pilot is the modern family SUV. It checks all of the boxes and then adds a few more boxes to the list of features that you might not have thought of before marking those off too.
