Vehicle Profile: 2019 Ford Transit Connect
Whether you need it to carry cargo or passengers, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect specializes in safe, flexible transportation. Businesses and families alike will benefit from the Transit Connect’s versatile nature and assured handling.
Power and capability
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect offers a pair of powertrain options. The standard 2.0-liter GID four-cylinder engine is paired to an eight-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, making 150 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque. The available 2.5-liter IVCT four-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, delivering 169 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.
When equipped with the available Trailer Tow Prep Package, the Transit Connect can tow up to 2,000 pounds. The tow package includes trailer sway control technology, which adjusts the brakes and engine torque to help keep the vehicle and trailer stable on the road.
Seating and cargo
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect comes in two different configurations to match your cargo and passenger needs. Cargo Van trims come with one row of seating. Short-wheelbase models can fit up to 123.2 cubic feet of cargo with the front passenger seat folded, or objects as long as 71.8 inches. Long-wheelbase models can fit up to 145.8 cubic feet of cargo, or objects as long as 87.6 inches. The cargo area can be accessed by your choice of swing-out doors or a liftgate and is set up to accommodate a wide range of upfits for different business needs. Passenger Wagon trims offer three rows of seating for up to seven passengers. Cargo capacity is 24.9 cubic feet with all seats up, 60.1 cubic feet behind the second row and 106 cubic feet behind the first row.
Safety is a major priority for the 2019 Ford Transit Connect. The standard rearview camera with guidelines makes it easy to maneuver the van in and out of small spaces or heavy traffic. AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control® helps the vehicle remain stable and handle safely in rough driving conditions. Front and side air bags protect front passengers in the event of a crash, and the independently deployed Safety Canopy® side-curtain air-bag system protects rear passengers in the Passenger Wagon. The Transit Connect also features standard active-safety systems that work together to prevent and mitigate collisions: Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking.
If you’re looking for a safe, spacious ride for your family or a versatile, reliable cargo transporter for your small business, place the 2019 Ford Transit Connect at the top of your list.
