Vehicle Details: 2021 Ford F-150 Capabilities
Ford delivers the most capable, hardest-working F-150 yet

2021 Ford F-150
You can always count on Ford to pull out all the stops when it comes to making the top truck in its class. With the all-new 2021 Ford F-150, that drive to outclass the competition results in the most capable full-size truck Ford has made yet. In terms of raw power and ability, as well as intelligent tech that simplifies the task at hand, nothing touches the latest Ford F-150.

Best-in-class towing and payload

The measure of a pickup truck tends to fall to its towing and payload prowess. Ford routinely tops these figures with the F-150, but the gap between the all-new 2021 F-150 and its competition is impressive to say the least.

The 2021 Ford F-150 offers best-in-class towing, out-pulling other trucks by a significant margin. Equipped with the powerful twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 and the optional Max Trailer Tow Package, the 2021 F-150 offers up to 14,000 pounds of maximum towing capability. For context, that’s 800 pounds more max towing power than the previous F-150.

In terms of payload, the 2021 Ford F-150 once again leaves other trucks in the dust. Thanks to the legendary 5.0-liter V8 and the Max Trailer Tow Package, the all-new F-150 maxes out at 3,325 pounds of payload potential. That’s a full 1,000 pounds more than the second-most-capable pickup truck, giving the F-150 a wide lead if you’re looking to do hard work.

A versatile, advanced engine lineup

Beyond its best-in-class towing and payload potential, the 2021 Ford F-150 and its seven-engine lineup deliver the goods when it comes to hard work. In addition to offering the most towing power of any truck, the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 also allows the F-150 to carry up to 3,250 pounds of max payload, putting it just behind the V8. In so many ways, the F-150 competes with itself as much as it competes with other trucks.

Another area in which the 2021 Ford F-150 is unchallenged: It’s the only pickup available with a full hybrid engine. The all-new 3.5-liter PowerBoost® full hybrid V6 is a class-exclusive dynamo that delivers incredible power, range, and capability. The PowerBoost goes toe-to-toe with the high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost featured in the F-150 Raptor, delivering 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. That torque figure is the highest ever made by an F-150 — or at least it will be until the F-150 Lightning arrives in spring 2022.

Thanks to that power, the 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost delivers nothing short of the capability you expect from a Ford truck. This advanced powertrain generates up to 12,700 pounds of maximum towing and 2,120 pounds of max payload. Couple this with an EPA-estimated maximum range of 750 miles on a single tank of gas and innovations like the standard 2.4-kilowatt Pro Power Onboard generator, and the F-150 PowerBoost is a hybrid that isn’t afraid to work hard.*

On top of all this, the 2021 Ford F-150 is the most innovative truck Ford has built yet. Available features like the Pro Power Onboard, first-in-class Onboard Scales feature, selectable 360-degree zone lighting, and an interior work surface only serve to confirm the fact that no truck does work like the F-150.

*Range calculation based on 30.6-gallon tank and EPA-estimated rating of 25 combined mpg. Actual range will vary.
