Subaru Car and Driver Editors Choice
Each year, the editors at Car and Driver rate, test, and rank hundreds of vehicles across 37 segments. When all is said and done, the Editors’ Choice list includes the top vehicle in each of those categories. It was announced that the Subaru BRZ and Subaru Outback were added to the 2022 list as winners.
“We are thrilled the Outback and all-new BRZ were 2022 top picks by the editors at Car and Driver,” said Subaru of America, Inc. President and CEO Thomas J. Doll. “Our mission as an automaker is to deliver vehicles that are built to the highest standards of safety, performance, and technology.”
The BRZ was selected as the winner in the “Affordable Sports Car” category. Indeed, with its starting price of just $27,995, you get to experience an exhilarating drive every time you get behind the wheel without spending a ton of money.[1] The Car and Driver editors especially liked the responsive 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine and the model’s ultra-low center of gravity. Additional 2022 BRZ highlights include its rear-wheel-drive sports car layout; high-performance wheels, tires, and brakes; six-speed manual transmission; and its quick-ratio steering.
The popular Outback SUV won the Station Wagon category thanks to its ideal blend of car-like handling and SUV capability. For example, the new Outback Wilderness offers 9.5 inches of ground clearance as well as a low step-in height so it’s easy to get in and out of the SUV. The Outback is also equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a long list of advanced safety systems. You also have a lot of customization with the 2022 Outback, as it is available at eight trim levels: Base, Premium, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness, Limited XT, and Touring XT.

The best way to experience the award-winning Subaru BRZ or the Subaru Outback is to take either of these vehicles for a test drive.
