Vehicle Profile: 2020 Jeep® Gladiator
From 1962 to 1988, the Jeep® Gladiator pickup truck was sold under many different names. Since then, there have been a handful of concepts floating around, but nothing ever stuck — that is, until now. The 2020 Jeep® Gladiator is an all-new mid-size pickup truck featuring classic styling cues from Jeep® as well as incredible capability and comfort.
Performance and utility
Across its four trims — Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon — you’ll find a standard 3.6-liter V6 under the hood of the 2020 Gladiator. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, this pickup can produce up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
The Gladiator features best-in-class towing and 4x4 payload, coming in at 7,650 pounds of max towing capacity and a payload maximum of 1,600 pounds. To ensure extreme durability, you can add the available spray-in bedliner to the 5-foot cargo bed for extra protection. Also available is a roll-up tonneau bed cover to create a streamlined, clean look or to protect your gear from the elements.
Classic Jeep® style
Sure, the 2020 Gladiator is a pickup truck, but it’s still a Jeep®, and it’s outfitted with classic styling cues that everyone will recognize. On the front, the iconic body-color grille is accented by rounded halogen headlamps and fog lamps. The square body of the Gladiator also features a standard black Sunrider soft top, black exterior mirrors, black door handles and a black front frame overlay.
When you move up to the Sport S trim, you can add items like power-heated exterior mirrors, a power tailgate lock and automatic headlamps. The Overland trim gives the Gladiator Daytime Running Lamps, side steps and 18-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels, while the top-of-the-line Rubicon trim offers a steel rear bumper, a dual vented hood as well as cab and bed steel rock rails.
Intuitive and intelligent
While some trucks are all brawn, the 2020 Jeep® Gladiator is a perfect combination of mighty and modern. Right from the start, the intelligent truck comes with the Uconnect® 3 infotainment system with a 5-inch touch-screen display, integrated voice command with Bluetooth®, eight speakers and a media hub. When you get to the Overland trim, the tech is upgraded to the Uconnect® 4 system with a larger 7-inch touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, a SiriusXM® Satellite Radio trial and a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet.
Of course, the safety features on the 2020 Gladiator are just as smart as the entertainment. Standard systems include Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, a Parkview® rear back-up camera, Traction Control and Trailer Sway Control. Combined, all of these intuitive systems work together to make the all-new Gladiator the perfect vehicle for any adventure.
Now available nationwide, the 2020 Jeep® Gladiator is an incredibly capable, versatile pickup truck that’s prepared for just about anything. Take one for a test drive and learn more about what it can do.
