Vehicle Profile: 2022 Subaru Ascent

2022 Subaru Ascent
Introduced in late 2017, the Ascent is the biggest vehicle in the Subaru lineup. The large SUV offers three rows of room, standard all-wheel drive, and the systems you need to keep your family safe on every adventure.
The 2022 Subaru Ascent is available at five trim levels: Ascent (base), Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, and Touring.
With its 2.4-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engine under the hood, the 2022 Ascent can generate 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. You’ll also have an impressive 5,000-pound towing capacity at the ready, letting you bring along items like ATVs, a small fishing boat, jet skis, or a small trailer for camping. With standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, tackling slippery roads has never been easier. When it’s time to go off-road, the Ascent offers 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which is more than what its competitors like the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Explorer offer. Adding to the Ascent’s capable edge is X-MODE®, which automatically adjusts the AWD system, giving you added confidence behind the wheel.
You get to choose between a seven- or eight-passenger setup for the 2022 Subaru Ascent’s interior. With the seven-passenger interior, the second-row captain’s chairs give passengers a bit more room to stretch out. Comfort can also be found in the high-quality, soft-touch materials that fill the cabin. Cloth upholstery is standard on the base trim, but as you move up to other trims you can choose leather-trimmed seats or the water-repellent StarTex® upholstery. Leather trimming is also available for the steering wheel and gear shift handle. Additional accents like an ivory carbon fiber-patterned trim on the dash and doors or the woodgrain alternative elevate the Ascent’s interior above other large SUVs.
As cozy as the interior is, it’s also incredibly spacious. With the second and third rows folded down, you’ll have 86.5 cubic feet of space to haul things like sporting equipment, luggage, and — of course — groceries. The interior of the 2022 Ascent is also advanced. With the Subaru STARLINK Multimedia system, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto integration is standard via the 6.5-inch touch-screen display. Upgrade to the Ascent Premium and above for a larger 8-inch touch screen along with other helpful features like navigation, voice-activated controls, and NFC technology. There’s no need to worry about using up data, either, thanks to the available 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability. And when it’s time to turn on the tunes, audiophiles should consider adding the optional Harman Kardon® Quantum Surround Sound audio system that comes with 14 speakers and a 792-watt GreenEdge® amplifier.
Even more technology has been included in the 2022 Subaru Ascent in the form of exceptional safety systems. Standard EyeSight® driver-assist tech works to monitor the road ahead and help out when needed. Adaptive Cruise Control will automatically adjust your speed and keep you at a safe distance from the car in front of you. Meanwhile, Lane Keep Assist with Sway Warning will let you know if you start to drift. Pre-Collision Braking helps you avoid or reduce frontal accidents by alerting you and taking action by applying the brakes in emergency situations. Outside of EyeSight® technology, the Ascent can also be equipped with other helpful systems like Reverse Automatic Braking and Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
You can experience the capable, comfortable, and safe 2022 Subaru Ascent when you schedule a test drive.
