Vehicle Preview: 2020 Chevrolet Camaro
The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is more than just a muscle car
The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most affordable V8-equipped sports car you can buy, with oodles of effortless power and style that never quits. And with a leather-appointed interior and magnet-powered suspension, it’s just as comfortable as it is fast.
Power, and lots of it
The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered with four engines, each impressive in their own right. The base unit is a 2.0-liter turbo rated at 275 horsepower, which uses direct injection and variable valve timing to deliver a strong mix of performance and fuel efficiency. After all, just because you can go fast doesn’t mean you shouldn’t also be able to get over 30 mpg.* Also on offer is a 335-horsepower V6, a 455-hosrepower LT1 V8, and finally the legendary, supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 that produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Every engine comes with either a six-speed manual or a slick 10-speed automatic (8-speed in the case of the four-cylinder). Better yet, the Magnetic Ride Control™ suspension reads and adapts to road changes as fast as every 10 milliseconds to provide enhanced stability and grip at every stage of the corner: turn-in, mid and exit.
There’s no question that the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most aggressive-looking cars on the streets. The sculpted hood, muscular wheel arches and slender, piercing LED headlights paint a provocative picture, and for 2020 the SS model has also received major front-end revisions based on the distinctive Camaro Shock show vehicle that was unveiled at last year’s SEMA Show. Inside, everything about the cockpit is designed for performance driving, with a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, top-notch ergonomics and aggressive seat bolsters. Heated and ventilated seats, generous leather upholstery and ambient lighting help set the mood whether you’re at the track or driving downtown.
The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro boasts all of the tech you would expect in a modern car, like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capability as well as a large standard touch screen. But it also comes with a lot of tech you won’t find in many other cars, like built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi®, a head-up display and a drive mode selector. Of special note are all the race-ready features like the customizable Launch Control and the Performance Data Recorder, which captures real-time performance data so you can look back at your laps later on and identify where you can improve.
The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is a muscle car first and foremost, with all of the characteristics you would expect of one: excellent raw power, edgy styling and a rumbling exhaust note. But it’s also a lot more, with plenty of comfort, features and technology that any passenger can enjoy regardless of their enthusiasm for V8 engines.
