Vehicle Profile: 2020 GMC Yukon
The 2020 GMC Yukon is the ultimate family SUV, combining rugged capability and performance with sophisticated designs and technologies. Take a look at some of the Yukon’s top features before it is completely overhauled for the 2021 model year.
The 2020 GMC Yukon boasts a versatile interior that was designed and crafted to deliver the utmost in comfort for the whole family. Tri-zone automatic climate control allows everyone to enjoy their ideal ambient temperature regardless of seating location, while heated and ventilated front seats allow you to sit down and immediately relax no matter the conditions outside. The acoustic-laminated windshield and front-door windows, as well as the inlaid triple door seals, contribute to an excellent sound-dampening effect that adds yet another layer of peaceful comfort to the Yukon’s interior. The second- and third-row seats are easy to configure and, when folded flat, give you up to 94.7 cubic feet of cargo space to play with — an immense amount.
Everything inside the 2020 GMC Yukon is connected. Behind the wheel, you’ll feel at ease in your very own command center. Ahead of you, the Driver Information Center with all critical information, all of its functions controllable via the steering wheel. To your right, the advanced 8-inch color touch screen with voice-activated features, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot. Behind you, passengers get to enjoy the dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system with Blu-ray/DVD player, two USB ports, Wi-Fi wireless project capability and two wireless digital headphones — though the whole family can enjoy the Bose® premium sound system with its nine speakers and center-mounted subwoofer.
The 2020 GMC Yukon uses a powerful 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It uses Active Fuel Management technology to activate up to four cylinders under light loads to enhance fuel efficiency. At full strength, however, it’s capable of towing up to 8,500 pounds, putting it in the top tier of SUVs for trailering capability. It also offers Trailer Sway Control technology, Integrated Trailer Brake Controller and two-speed active transfer case on 4WD models that, all combined, make it easy for even novice drivers to hook up a large trailer and head out without issues.
The 2020 GMC Yukon is the last of the Yukon’s fourth generation models and represents some of the best engineering, luxury and capability GMC has to offer. If you need room for up to nine, it’s hard to say why you would ever consider anything else.
