Vehicle Preview: 2020 GMC Acadia
The 2020 GMC Acadia boasts a number of exciting changes and upgrades for the 2020 model year. From new interior luxuries and cutting-edge technology to improved performance and an aggressive new trim level, there’s plenty to appreciate about the new Acadia. Here’s a look at what’s in store for this versatile midsize SUV.
The AT4 Trim
The 2020 Acadia AT4 will soon join the lineup, alongside the SLE, SLT, and the range-topping Denali trim. This sporty new trim level offers aggressive features like a black-and-chrome grille, trim-level-exclusive wheels and all-terrain tires. It’s also packing a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. For even more capability, AT4 comes standard with a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system.
Powertrains and Performance
For the 2020 model year, the Acadia offers a new 2.0-liter Turbo engine. It delivers 237 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque and a dual-scroll design to enhance its low-speed torque delivery. Thanks to GM’s tripower valvetrain technology and turbocharging system, this engine can maximize its power at all speeds, while its Active Fuel Management technology helps cut your gas bill by deactivating cylinders under light load conditions. You’ll also be able to choose the Acadia’s time-tested engine options, including the 2.5-liter I-4 and the 3.6-liter V6, depending on the trim level you select. Whichever you choose, you’ll receive the new nine-speed automatic transmission. Its additional clutches and gears improve acceleration and efficiency, while also reducing engine noise.
The 2020 Acadia boasts eye-catching upgrades, inside and out. It distinguishes itself with a new grille, redesigned front and rear fascias and its signature C-shaped LED lighting. Get the hands-free power liftgate for even greater convenience. Inside, you’ll find a larger, redesigned center console. On the Denali trim, you’ll receive an exclusive interior color scheme and open-pore wood decor.
When you step inside the 2020 Acadia’s high-tech cabin, you’ll immediately notice the bold 8-inch touchscreen equipped with a streamlined, smartphone-inspired interface. Customize it with your favorite audio, navigation and climate control settings. You can even transfer those preferences to another compatible GMC vehicle. The infotainment system also boasts an improved navigation system with better voice recognition capabilities, real-time updates, predictive navigation and improved route guidance.
