Vehicle Preview: 2020 Jeep® Wrangler
Few vehicles have the same emotional appeal as the Jeep® Wrangler. An American icon in every sense, the Wrangler is the product of seven decades of excellence, evolving without losing sight of what makes it so inimitable. The 2020 Jeep® Wrangler is the latest entry in that long legacy, offering unmatched presence and exceptional off-road capabilities with no shortage of intelligence and premium sensibilities.
New powertrain options
The 2020 Wrangler boasts arguably the most impressive engine lineup in the vehicle’s long, storied history. For 2020, you’ll have your pick from two different versions of both the 2.0-liter Turbo and the venerable 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6. Both engines are available with either the eTorque Mild Hybrid System, which improves low-end torque delivery, or automatic engine Stop/Start technology that helps improve city and combined fuel efficiency for the Turbo1 and highway fuel efficiency for the Pentastar®.2 No matter your choice, you can bank on impressive horsepower and torque for your journey — wherever it leads.
For 2020, four-door Wrangler models will be available with the all-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, which delivers an unparalleled 442 lb-ft of torque and is expected to deliver superior fuel economy with engine Stop/Start. Available later in the model year, the EcoDiesel pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission to make the most of its exceptional torque output.
New special editions
Standing out is part of Jeep® Life, and that extends to standing out among other Jeep® owners. Setting the 2020 Wrangler apart is the return of the Wrangler Willys special edition, marking the first time the legendary Willys name has featured on the next-generation Wrangler. Featuring the Command-Trac® 4x4 system, unique exterior details and decals and 32-inch Firestone Mud-Terrain T/A® Tires wrapped around 17-inch gloss black five-spoke wheels, the Wrangler Willys fills the need for form and function in one shot.
Also new for 2020 is the Wrangler Black & Tan, which boasts a premium tan Sunrider® soft top, Heritage Tan cloth seats and 17-inch Machine Granite wheels with all-terrain tires. The Wrangler Willys and Wrangler Black & Tan join the 2020 Jeep® Wrangler Sport Altitude and Sahara Altitude in helping you express yourself more fully as an individual.
Still an off-road legend
For all the changes the Wrangler has undergone, its off-road prowess remains a constant. The 2020 Wrangler earns its Trail Rated® badge by proving its mettle in off-road traction, water fording and ground clearance among other metrics. This is made possible with the help of three available 4x4 systems, including a full-time Selec-Trac® 4x4 System available on the Wrangler Sahara that automatically alternates between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive based on the conditions.
There is arguably no off-road vehicle more revered than the Wrangler Rubicon, which boasts 33-inch all-terrain tires, a Rock-Trac® NV241 two-speed transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio and front and rear Tru-Lok® electronic locking differentials for superior performance just about anywhere. The Wrangler Rubicon is an icon unto itself, and it only builds that reputation with next-generation Dana® front and rear heavy-duty axles, electronic sway bar disconnect system and an incredible 10.8 inches of ground clearance. If you crave adventure, the Wrangler Rubicon will more than sate your appetite.
The 2020 Jeep® Wrangler lives up to a legacy more than 75 years strong, carrying the torch of uniqueness and adventure to a new generation of drivers. The new Wrangler is available at dealerships nationwide.
