Discover the family-friendly 2020 Honda Accord sedan

2020 Honda Accord

The 2020 Honda Accord is a midsize sedan with three powertrain choices — including a hybrid — and a generous amount of family-friendly features. Available at five trim levels, there’s a Honda Accord for everyone, from the budget-conscious commuter to families seeking premium comfort.

For a car as eye-catching as the 2020 Honda Accord, its interior is surprisingly spacious. Seductive curves and proportions — and that fastback-inspired roof line — normally come at the cost of interior room, at least in other cars. Good exterior design, however, hasn’t seemed to make much of a difference to the Accord’s interior. Rear passengers get 40.4 inches of legroom and 37.2 inches of headroom, which is nearly as much as front passengers enjoy and plenty for even tall adults to get comfortable. It helps, of course, that the seats practically mold themselves around you, and that both front and rear outboard seats are available with heating. Front seats even get ventilation, ensuring you never run out of comfort whether it’s freezing or blistering outside. The Accord offers up to 16.7 cubic feet of space in the trunk, including on the hybrid models thanks to clever battery packaging.

The base 2020 Honda Accord is powered by a 1.5-liter VTEC® turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. It uses Eco Assist™ technology to optimize fuel efficiency both in stop-and-go traffic and during highway cruises, earning an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 33 miles per gallon combined.* The hybrid model, however, puts those numbers to shame. Using two electric motors and an e-CVT transmission, it produces 212 total system horsepower while earning 48 mpg combined.* Thanks to the instant torque provided by the electric motors, it’s quite responsive too. For the most exciting performance, though, you’ll want the 2.0-liter VTEC® turbocharged engine, which makes 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Engaging and high-revving, it pairs well with either the six-speed manual or the 10-speed automatic while still delivering respectable fuel economy numbers. Meanwhile, an adaptive damper system works to keep unwanted noises and vibrations out of the cabin, improving the ride quality no matter the engine under the hood.

The 2020 Honda Accord is offered with an impressive list of standard and optional features. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, a multi-angle rearview camera, push-button start and the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. The most noteworthy Honda Sensing® feature is the Collision Mitigation Braking System™, which is capable of bringing the Accord to a stop should the system determine that a frontal collision is unavoidable. Other Honda Sensing® features include Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation System. On higher trim levels, the Accord becomes quite luxe with options such as a head-up display, wireless phone charging, a mobile in-vehicle hotspot and leather seating with 12-way power options. The Accord also offers Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration for your smartphone.

With its clever design, engaging performance and numerous features, the 2020 Honda Accord proves a more-than-worthwhile option for shoppers in the midsize sedan segment.
